Choosing the right paperboard can enhance the premium character of brands on the shelf. The Invercote range has some outstanding properties and excellent options to achieve this.
Having a board with the right whiteness level, to faithfully reproduce the colours and tones of your artworks is critical. It’s equally important that the shade of the board is maintained - exposure to the sun and UV light can cause packaging to fade. Invercote has a good and stable whiteness, helped by fresh wood free fibres and just a modest amount of OBA. Furthermore, Invercote products work extremely well with finishing techniques to makes beverage packaging stand out even more.
Eliminate the risk of tearing and cracking. Strength, stiffness and folding endurance are extremely important characteristics for packaging. Additionally, it’s superior strength and durability compared to higher grammages of other brands, gives cost savings and reduced transportation costs. Whilst still ensuring the safety and protection of bottles and products inside.
To increase the grammage levels and subsequent strength and rigidity, Invercote Duo is made by pasting together 2 Invercote G sheets, either back to back to give balanced fully coated surfaces, or back to front to give one side with a tactile, uncoated differentiation. Duo is ideal for wines and Spirits packaging, with a grammage range from 450g to 770g.
If you need a reflective, mirror effect to increase your brand’s shelf impact then MetalPrint is perfect. It uses a high quality paperboard with a metalized PET laminated on the print side.
With climate change and environmental concerns leading the agenda, both consumers and brands are on the lookout for more sustainable choices. When it comes to packaging, paperboard has an obvious advantage over fossil-based packaging: it’s a renewable material made from wood., easily recyclable and if it does end up in nature, decomposes quickly.
Certificates and standards are a positive way to set common benchmarks, and can also be helpful in marketing your products. Endorsements of Invercote’s fibre wood source include FSC® or PEFC™ . ISO certificates include 9001, 14001, ISO 45001 and 50001. In addition to the above, Iggesund are endorsed by some global indexes that take a more holistic look at sustainability across the company, including EcoVadis and Achilles.
The Invercote range is becoming evermore adopted into digital printing applications.
Whether for short run packaging, the photo-gifting market (calendars, photobooks, greetings cards) or general graphical applications (book covers, Menus, Invites or Tags) the properties and performance of Invercote are well appreciated by digital printers.
Invercote is certified for many HP indigo presses, giving excellent results without any pre-treatment requirements. Similarly, the range performs very well on most production dry toner presses.
Due to Invercote’s multi-layer construction, it has very high bulk and stiffness, so a lower grammage can often be chosen compared to a standard coated paper. An even great benefit lies in the no-cracking when folded. Your designs on digital packaging are perfectly replicated, even through corners. Book Covers, greeting cards or menus produced on Invercote will continue to look great, even after multiple openings. Tags & tickets have amazing bulk, strength, stiffness!
