Green Star System,
environmental product classification

To help customers make the most responsible choice when buying packaging, Antalis has developed an environmental product classification: the Green Star System. This scoring system helps our customers to compare the environmental performance of different products for a given application.

A 5-star scoring system

This classification is based on the 4R criteria that underpin the circular economy model, which is highly rated by our customers. The more stars a packaging has, the more sustainable it is!

Which products are excluded from the classification?

There are two main reasons why a product may be excluded:

  • Safety: if the product is composed of Substances of Very High Concern (REACH SVHC).
  • Lack of green features: if the product is not recyclable and contains a low level (<25%)
    of recycled/bio-based material.

What are the 4R classification criteria?

The Green Star System analyses safety, raw material sourcing and product end of life.
