The client's challenge

A manufacturer of transmission components and gears wanted to use reusable packaging, while ensuring the structural and aesthetic integrity of their goods during transport.

More specifically, their aims were to:

  • Provide a casing system for four different types of transmission components, suitable for use within the customer's current containers.
  • Ensure separation and stabilisation to avoid possible contact between the parts and any consequent scratches or damage.
  • Ensure maximum cleanliness of the elements inside the packaging.
  • Ensure saturation of the pieces inside the container, as per the customer's flow requirements.

The Antalis solution

Our experts began working with the customer, analysing the weak points of their then-current solution and looking for areas for improvement. They came up with a reusable containment system, with different shaped slots to accommodate four different types of transmission parts.

The solution included:

  • Internal separators with casing tailored specifically to both the four different dimensions of the components to be contained and the container already in use at the customer's premises.
  • A self-supporting structure articulated on several levels and interspersed with separating shelves to add strength and evenly distribute the loads.
