Antalis were approached by Rapidity and Design Bridge and Partners’ to showcase the Keaykolour collection- the Matches project was created.
Cameron Walton from Rapidity explains how the project was created:
In 2024, Antalis launched their new Keaykolour collection – a selection of uncoated papers and boards with options of 45 different sophisticated (and fun!) colours. They needed a creative solution that would best showcase the richness of colour and naturally inspired textures of the paper.
Most paper producers attempt to demonstrate creativity through how the paper stock can be applied, but the inherent playfulness of Keaykolour demands something a little different and it was where we drew our inspiration from. The colours within the Keaykolour range all have unique names that relate to the colour they represent. It was with these names that we decided to spark Antalis’s customers’ sense of creativity.
The names are designed to match the colour they represent, so we began to think of other things the names could be matched to. We designed a series of both consequential and complementary ‘matches’ inspired by the names within the colour range. These matches were brought to life through playful illustrations, all designed to be printed on, and demonstrate the quality of the Keaykolour paper range. Housed within their own ‘match box’, the illustrations offer the recipient a moment to spark their own imaginations, filling in the gaps between two seemingly unrelated items to create their own playful stories.
The Matches sample box offers a unique and memorable way for Antalis to demonstrate the Keaykolour range in a way that perfectly reflects the tone of the range itself.

"Antalis was delighted and honoured to be part of this exceptional project! The tactile and intriguing design immediately drew us in, making us eager to explore what's inside. The use of the Keaykolour brand and its vibrant colours around the matches puzzle was incredibly engaging. It was such a fun idea, and everyone enjoyed guessing the colours. The Keaykolour material felt and looked fantastic, especially on the main box, which truly resembled a box of matches. Overall, this was a brilliant little project, and we are proud to have contributed to its success."Vicky Weatherington, Creative Papers and Specification Manager, Antalis

The printed set itself is extremely cool. The quality of the print and the feel of the new paper is exactly what we hoped for. The tactile nature of Keaykolour shines, and it's exciting to see it come to life in such a beautifully designed format. I’ve shown it to a few colleagues and clients already, and they’ve been really impressed. It has sparked a lot of positive feedback, especially around how the design and quality of the paper complement each other.
This printed set highlights the quality and versatility of our digital print capabilities and positions us as a company that is capable of producing exceptional, high-quality work. It’s a great conversation starter and an excellent example of our ability to push the boundaries of digital printing. We plan to use this as part of our future marketing efforts, showcasing it to potential clients as a tangible example of what we can create.
