Antalis host tree planting day

Antalis and its partners have played an integral role in supporting new woodland creation at Lowther Estate in Cumbria. Over the years, Lowther Estate’s programme has funded the conversion of high intensity arable land into sustainable forestry. The project is not only capturing carbon but benefitting local wildlife by linking existing blocks of estate forestry to create a unique woodland corridor that joins the southern part of the property with important pasture woodlands.

Alongside the opportunity to plant a tree, Antalis and their carbon-offsetting-committed customers were given an educational tour of the forest by the Lowther Estate manager. Customers were able to see first-hand how their carbon offsetting activity through Antalis has supported the development, and ongoing management and protection of the woodland, subsequently delivering positive climate action. Lowther Forest is a total of 240 hectares and is comprised of 70% conifer trees and 30% mixed broadleaves. 

Antalis has supported Lowther Forest for several years, and their work with Forest Carbon across three projects has resulted in 16,488 trees planted, 4,645 tonnes of CO2 captured and 13 hectares of ecosystem restored.
