We have a responsibility at every point in this process to manage our environmental footprint and ensure all our products and processes respect the highest standards of sustainability.
That’s why our ESG strategy is defined by our vision of sustainability, the needs and expectations of our customers and other stakeholders, and a dynamic, increasingly demanding regulatory environment in our 3 activities: Papers, Packaging and Visual Communication.
To help our customers make environmentally responsible choices in selecting products which best meet their needs and expectations, we offer a range of tools including environmental product classifications in each of our business sectors.
Eco-responsible paper solutions
Antalis has set its path as an environmentally conscious leader in the paper industry.
Windles, a leading UK greetings card printer, collaborated with Antalis to source Incada paperboard for its eco-responsible attributes, local production, and economic benefits. Antalis set to work, arranging visits to the production plant and explaining the benefits of this high-quality, high-availability and low-impact product.
“Our 2023 Full Year ESG report is printed on Cyclus Offset, our fully recycled uncoated paper with a naturally white colour. Highly certified, this paper is produced with reduced energy consumption and without any bleaching chemicals.
The Cyclus brand is the most sustainable in the Antalis portfolio, rated 5 stars in the group's Green Star System. By choosing fully recycled papers for our ESG reports, we underscore our commitment to sustainability.
Cyclus Offset paper is distinguished by its multitude of sustainable accreditations, including FSC Recycled, Blue Angel, EU Ecolabel, and Cradle to Cradle Certified® Silver.“

As a European leader in Visual Communication, we have an extremely critical role to play in making this industry more responsible.
We empower our clients in transitioning to sustainable materials, understanding their properties and environmental impacts, and accessing eco-responsible alternatives
To celebrate its anniversary, a French retailer brand decided to decorate all its stores, both in France and around the world.
Print Marketing specialists Insty Print chose Coala Air Board from Antalis to create magnificent and sustainable honeycomb cardboard decorations.
The brand attaches great importance to eco-responsible materials, and its 5-star rating in the Green Star System™ TM meant they knew Coala Air Board fitted the bill, reinforcing its commitment to the environment.
"The challenges of the environmental transition are at the heart of the priorities of companies and therefore of our customers.
Antalis thrives to help them to transition to more eco-responsible alternatives, by providing the tools to make informed decisions and supplying a growing range of sustainable products."
Nicolas COUPRY, Market Manager & Sustainability Lead Visual Communication, Antalis
Packaging has an impact on the environment, historically marked by overwrapping, excessive non-recyclable materials, and transportation pollution. Antalis advocates for more sustainable packaging alternatives, addressing customer and end-user needs through sourcing, eco-design, recycling, and minimizing environmental footprints in distribution.
In the Packaging sector, we have launched paper packing lists, which are the ideal complementary product when goods are shipped in corrugated cardboard boxes. Available in a range of sizes and different prints, these self-adhesive document wallets are designed to offer a secure, easy and cost-effective way to adhere invoices and delivery notes to deliveries.
Using paper packing lists on corrugated boxes form a single-material product that is fully recyclable and can easily be disposed of in the same paper waste stream without the need to carry out additional sorting. Given the environmental aspect of this product, it was imperative that the paper used for our packing lists be FSC certified.
“Sustainability is an increasingly important issue in the industry and the demand for more responsible alternatives and solutions to use resources more efficiently is growing all the time. Of course, paper is an obvious solution, but there’s also high demand for recycled plastics and materials made from new products like grass. As customers become more aware and concerned about the ecological impact of their behaviours, I think there will be more and more demand for these new, innovative materials.”

Forest Certification, providing custody traceability at every stage of production and distribution, regardless of the country of origin. These certifications are becoming even more important as our customers consider the environmental and social credentials of their suppliers and continue to respond to end-user demand for more eco-responsible products.

Since 2010, the Antalis Group holds FSC and PEFC certifications. In November 2022, its subsidiaries, Antalis Verpackungen in Germnay and Austria, attained multi-site certification, enhancing traceability and sustainable practices. This enables them to offer FSC certified products to meet growing customer demand for sustainable forestry.
Choosing a sustainable product can be challenging. Antalis wants to provide clarity and guidance to best respond to its customer needs. That’s why we have developed the Green Star System™, a rating system for our Paper, Visual Communication and Packaging products, to give the right indicators to evaluate the environmental impact of the products. Each methodology has been adapted to the kind of products and the environmental challenges such as end-of-life. This methodology allows to attributes a star ranking to each product, from zero to five stars, based on its environmental performance.
